Two Georgia Initiative
To build an inclusive partnership that will facilitate the creation of pathways for sustainable improvements in lifestyle and health for all citizens of Lumpkin County.
A community that works together to continuously improve the health and quality of life for all individuals and families in Lumpkin County.
The #LUMPKINMATTERS coalition has remained consistently strong throughout the past 3 years with continued active participation in the Partnership Initiative Team (PIT) from local non-profit organizations (e.g., Community Helping Place, Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, Family Connections, Jerimiah’s Place, etc.), government involvement (Mayor, City of Dahlonega and County Commission Chair), Lumpkin County Board of Health, Lumpkin County School System, local faith communities representing a diversity of beliefs (e.g., Baptist, Unitarian, Jewish, Lutheran, etc.) and the University of North Georgia. A focused effort has been successful in reaching out to the diverse cultural communities in the county including African-American and Native American. Additionally, we have recently recruited veterans, high-school students and University of North Georgia to participate in the Community Navigation Events.
